Chhattisgarh tourism development to gain new momentum, strategy formulated at the 38th board of directors meeting of the tourism board A comprehensive review of plans and projects at the Tourism Board headquarters and discussion on the roadmap for upcoming tourism activities Raipur the 38th meeting of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board's Board of Directors was successfully concluded on Monday at the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board headquarters in Raipur The meeting discussed overall development of the tourism sector progress of current plans new tourism initiatives and effective implementation of upcoming activities The decisions taken in the meeting are an important step to give a new direction to the state's tourism sector The meeting was chaired by Shri Neelu Sharma President of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Present were Secretary of Tourism Department Dr S Bhartidasan (Bhpr Se) Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Shri Vivek Acharya (Bhav Se) Deputy Secretary Mrs Ruchi Sharma Assistant General Manager Mrs Poonam Sharma Director of the Culture Department Shri Sanjay Kannaunje various departmental government members and heads of different branches of the Tourism Board The meeting began with a message on environmental protection and a pledge for plantation and green initiatives Managing Director Shri Vivek Acharya presented a plant to President Shri Neelu Sharma and Tourism Secretary Dr S Bhartidasan expressing his commitment to environmental protection Likewise Assistant General Manager Mrs Poonam Sharma welcomed by presenting a plant to members of various departmental officials During the meeting a detailed review of the progress of various schemes and development projects undertaken by the Tourism Board was conducted Discussion covered timely and quality implementation of projects strengthening of tourism infrastructure expansion of tourist facilities and making major tourist destinations in the state more attractive and user friendly Also extensive discussion on upcoming tourism programmes promotional activities investment potentials and various aspects of linking tourism with employment and the local economy There was consensus that coordinated efforts will be made to present the state's natural cultural religious and tribal tourism assets effectively at the national and international level Special emphasis was placed on expanding basic facilities at tourist sites improving tourist experience and increasing local community participation Through the important decisions taken there is unanimous agreement on a strategy to give a new direction to Chhattisgarh's tourism sector accelerate effective implementation of plans and achieve notable achievements in the future The Board expressed confidence that these decisions will strengthen the state's tourism identity further and strengthen Chhattisgarh's distinct identity among major tourism states of India
