Chhattisgarh Tourism's Innovative Pavilion Receives National Honor Among 21 States
Investment, Tourism Partnerships, and State's Cultural Identity Reach New Heights During Three-Day Event
Raipur, July 13, 2026. Chhattisgarh Tourism has achieved another remarkable feat at the national level with its impressive presence at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata-2026. Upon the successful conclusion of this prestigious three-day tourism event, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board was honored with the “Best Decoration of Stall & Appearance” award for its attractive, creative, and impactful pavilion amidst participation from 21 states across the country. This award is a significant recognition of the successful efforts in effectively showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage, tribal life, natural tourism, religious sites, and modern tourism approach on a national platform.
The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board's pavilion at the prestigious tourism trade fair, held from July 10 to 12 at the Biswa Bangla Prangan in Kolkata, remained a major center of attraction for visitors, tourism experts, tour operators, and investors throughout the three days. The pavilion effectively showcased Bastar's tribal culture, Chitrakot and Teerathgarh waterfalls, Kanger Valley National Park, Sirpur, Bhoramdeo, religious and eco-tourism, tourist resorts, and the state's various tourist circuits through modern presentations, which received widespread appreciation.
During the event, Shri Nilu Sharma, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri S. Bharidason, Secretary of the Tourism Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, and Shri Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, participated in several important B2B meetings with national and international tour operators, travel agencies, hotel groups, tourism experts, and investors. These meetings involved detailed discussions on tourism investment, development of joint tourism packages, marketing cooperation, access to new tourism markets, and prospects for increasing tourist numbers in Chhattisgarh. These dialogues also strengthened future partnerships and investment opportunities in the state's tourism sector.
Around 28 registered tour operators, hotel owners, homestay operators, and tourism entrepreneurs from the state and other states actively participated alongside the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board in the fair. This provided an opportunity to effectively present the state's tourism products to the national tourism industry and establish new business relationships.
During the inauguration of the event, several distinguished guests, including Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Tourism Minister of Goa; Shri Satpal Maharaj, Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand; Dr. Shankar Ghosh, Tourism Minister of West Bengal; and Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyaporn, Consul General of Thailand, visited the Chhattisgarh pavilion. All guests appreciated the state's natural beauty, tribal culture, religious heritage, and tourism development potential, highlighting Chhattisgarh as an emerging tourism destination.
Shri Nilu Sharma, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Minister of Tourism and Culture Shri Rajesh Agarwal, the state is continuously achieving new milestones in the field of tourism. He added that national platforms like TTF are important mediums for effectively showcasing the state's tourism potential to the country and the world. He emphasized that this award proves that Chhattisgarh is currently establishing a strong presence on the national tourism map based on its unique cultural identity, natural splendor, and excellent tourism resources.
Shri S. Bharidason, Secretary of the Tourism and Culture Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, said that the state government is working systematically, considering tourism as a significant medium for economic development, local employment, and cultural preservation. Effective participation by Chhattisgarh on national and international platforms will lead to a positive increase in tourism investment, tourist numbers, and private sector participation in the state.
Shri Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, stated that the tourism board is continuously working to promote the state's tourism products to national and global markets. He added that the success achieved and the national honor received at TTF-2026 are the results of the collective efforts of all stakeholders associated with the state's tourism industry and will give new momentum to the campaign to establish Chhattisgarh among the leading tourist destinations in the country.
