Chhattisgarh Records Mixed Rainfall: Some Districts Above Normal, Others Below

Rainfall distribution across Chhattisgarh remains uneven. In districts such as Sarangarh–Bilaspur, total precipitation has surged to 450.7 mm, which is 84 % higher than normal expectations. Similar excesses have been recorded in Dantewada, Mungeli, Sakti, Mahasamund, Raipur, and Janjgir‑Champa.

Conversely, Sarangarh’s neighboring regions like Sarangarh‑Madosilli have experienced rising water levels in waterfalls, enhancing the local scenery, while districts such as Sarguja have lagged far behind. Only 144.4 mm of rain has fallen there, a deficit of 53 % compared with the seasonal average. Other low‑rain districts include Kanker, Jaipur, Koriya, Gaurela‑Pendra‑Marwahi, Mohla‑Manpur‑Chowki, Kondagaon, Bemetara, Sukma, and Surajpur.
