Rain and storms forecast across central, eastern and northeast India

Central India, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and the Vidarbha region, will continue to experience a series of rain events over the next six days. Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh are likely to see heavy to very heavy rain. In the east, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim are also set for good rainfall between July 16 and 20, with Odisha issuing a heavy‑rain warning on July 16. The northeastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura—are forecast to face heavy rain and occasional thunderstorms from July 16 to 21.
