Bilaspur police investigate stabbing incident linked to Harela rooster sale
Authorities in Bilaspur are probing a stabbing that occurred during Harela festivities in the Sarakanda region. The incident took place in the village of Chilhati Dhanwarpara, where brothers Gautam and Ropesh Dhawan purchased a rooster for the traditional celebrations.
A verbal clash over the rooster quickly escalated, culminating in Gautam using a sharp weapon stored at the residence to stab his younger brother. Ropesh, aged 22, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Sims Hospital for treatment.
Police from the Mopka police outpost secured the crime scene, collected statements from family members, and are examining the weapon for forensic clues. The investigation aims to uncover the root cause of the dispute, the exact nature of the weapon, and the full chronology of events. Further legal measures will be taken once the inquiry concludes.
