Piped Natural Gas to Reach Bilaspur Homes – Details on Cost, Phases, and Supply Plant

Bilaspur’s energy landscape is set for a dramatic shift as the city moves from bottled LPG to piped natural gas (PNG). The service is expected to commence on July 31, 2026, after months of rapid pipeline construction by a prominent gas firm.

Over 330 applications have already been registered, and work on installing meters has started in approximately 30 residences. The pilot rollout focuses on Rajkishore Nagar, where a 54‑km pipeline network has been completed and is undergoing final technical trials.

The citywide rollout is organized into three distinct phases. Phase one covers Rajkishore Nagar, Mopka, Sarkanda, and Geetanjali City. Phase two will serve the Mangla area, and phase three will bring PNG to the Konni zone. This systematic approach aims to maintain service quality while scaling up.

Pricing for a domestic PNG connection is projected at about ₹6,000, encompassing all hardware and installation costs. To ease affordability, consumers can make an initial payment of just ₹1,300 and then settle the balance through convenient EMI plans.

A new transmission gas plant built in the Kachar region is now operational. It channels natural gas into the city’s pipework, ensuring a seamless, uninterrupted supply to every connected household.
