A big decision in favor of farmers by the Central Government: Pulses and oilseeds production will be encouraged

Raipur January 5, 2026 / Union Minister of Rural Development and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has informed Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai through a letter that the state government’s proposal to implement the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for the procurement of pulses and oilseeds in Chhattisgarh during the Kharif marketing year 2025-26 has been approved.
According to the letter sent by the Union Minister, approval has been given for the procurement of the following crops in Chhattisgarh at Minimum Support Price (MSP): 21,330 metric tons of Tur, 25,530 metric tons of Urad, 240 metric tons of Moong, 4,210 metric tons of Soybean, and 4,210 metric tons of Groundnut.
The procurement of these crops will be done at the Minimum Support Price under the Price Support Scheme, ensuring farmers receive fair prices for their produce. In his letter, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed hope that this decision will provide great relief to farmers producing Tur, Urad, Moong, Soybean, and Groundnut, and they will not be forced to sell their crops at throwaway prices.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude for this decision of the Central Government, stating that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the protection of farmers’ interests is our top priority. He said that the state government will ensure maximum benefit to the farmers by completing all preparations for MSP procurement in a timely manner. This decision will provide economic security to the farmers of the state, encourage the production of pulses and oilseeds, and strengthen the rural economy.
