Big change in Chhattisgarh's education department - Online attendance and leave mandatory from June 16, June's salary will be stopped for negligence

Raipur, June 12, 2026/ Work will no longer proceed in the old way in the education department of Chhattisgarh. The Directorate of Public Instruction has issued strict instructions for the strict compliance of online attendance and online leave application system for officers, employees and teachers. As per the new order, digital attendance will be mandatory for everyone from the upcoming June 16, 2026. Negligence of rules will lead to stoppage of June's salary. VSK App for schools and AEBAS for offices mandatory The government has decided two different digital mediums to bring transparency at every level of the department. The attendance of all teachers and employees working in government schools will be recorded through the mobile application developed by the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) application. As per the instructions of the General Administration Department, officers and clerks posted in offices will have to mark their attendance through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). No attendance, no salary If the attendance of any employee is not found recorded in the VSK App or Biometric system from June 16, their attendance will be considered zero. In such a situation, the salary of the concerned employee for the month of June will not be released, and the entire responsibility for this will lie with the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs). Complete ban on offline leave, strict action will be taken against officers acting arbitrarily The Directorate has clarified that the 'HRMIS portal' system for leave applications and their approval for the personnel of the education department has already been implemented, but despite this, offline (on paper) applications are still being accepted in many places. Taking this seriously, the administration has now completely banned offline leave applications. Now all types of leaves can only be taken and sanctioned through online medium. If any officer accepts or sanctions an offline application, strict disciplinary action will be taken against them. Instructions for effective implementation to officers The Directorate of Public Instruction has issued a letter to all Joint Directors (JDs), District Education Officers (DEOs) and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of the state, asking them to ensure strict compliance of these instructions at the ground level. This new system is expected to completely curb the tendency of late coming and remaining absent without notice in the department.
