Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the need to be duty‑bound and serve the people and ensure good governance by doing better work at the grassroots level. Administrative service is a means to earn public trust; sensitivity and transparency should form the basis of work style. Deputy Collector trainees of the 2025 batch of the Chhattisgarh State Administrative Service met the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister's residence in Raipur. During the meeting he congratulated the newly appointed officers on their future administrative responsibilities and said that while selection in administrative service is an achievement, real success comes when officials use their position to deliver public service, good governance and bring state schemes to the final beneficiary. He stated that administrative officers are the most important link between government and citizens, and their decisions, behaviour and work style strengthen public confidence. Hence each officer must make sensitivity, transparency, honesty and accountability the core of their work. He stressed the importance of understanding public expectations and local conditions at the grassroots, listening seriously to people's problems and working towards timely solutions to automatically increase public trust. He highlighted that Chhattisgarh is a resource‑rich state with abundant mineral, forest, fertile land and energy capacity, and that proper utilization of these resources requires the active role of administrative officers in development. He noted that Naxalism had long been a major obstacle to the state's development, but due to the bravery of security forces, coordinated strategies of the centre and state governments and public confidence, Naxalism has now been eliminated, leading to rapid expansion of roads, education, health, electricity, drinking water and other basic facilities in previously hard‑to‑reach areas. He told the trainee officers that they will get opportunities to work especially in remote and tribal areas, where merely fulfilling administrative duties is insufficient; they must also bring positive change to people's lives. He emphasized the crucial role of officers in the holistic development of tribal societies, education, health, livelihood and effective implementation of government schemes, urging them to work with full commitment to deliver schemes to the last person. He reiterated the importance of good governance, saying the state government is continuously working to make administration more transparent, accountable and technology‑driven. He mentioned the establishment of the Good Governance and Convergence Department and the implementation of the e‑office system to make governance more transparent, efficient and timely, and urged the use of new technologies to simplify administrative work and provide better services to citizens. He added that revenue matters are directly linked to citizens’ lives; timely relief in land, transfer, demarcation, partition and other revenue issues is essential. He observed that even a small initiative by an officer can solve a family’s big problem, urging officers to adopt a sensitive approach and view each case humanely. He advised officers to maintain humility and composure, stating that listening to complaints is the first responsibility of administration and that many problems disappear after patient listening. He warned that if officers do not engage with the public, small issues can turn into major disputes, and therefore each officer must remain approachable, accessible and responsive to the people. He also took feedback on their training experiences and called on them to fulfil their duties efficiently, propelling the state’s development and good governance to new heights. The Director of Chhattisgarh Administration Academy, Shri T.C. Mahawar, informed the Chief Minister that the induction training of the 2025 batch of state administrative service officers has been completed, after which all trainee officers will be posted as Deputy Collectors in various districts to gain practical experience of departmental functioning. He said the 2025 batch comprises seven officers. The Director, Joint Director Mrs. Menka Pradhan and the trainee officers were present.
