Authorities Impose Bound‑Over Orders on Young Women in Mall Spa

A police raid at a spa centre on the second floor of Surya Mall in Bhilai led to the detention of eight young women on September 14, 2026. The operation, overseen by ASP Shobharaj Agrawal, was described as a "spot‑check" aimed at verifying compliance with local regulations.

The investigative team learned that the spa had continued its operations despite the mall management having terminated its electricity and water supply. Officers questioned the women and staff, and, lacking concrete proof of illicit trade, chose to place the women under a legal bound‑over order as a precaution.

Police officers have warned other spa owners that any deviation from licensing norms will trigger strict action. The department also indicated that ongoing monitoring of similar venues will be intensified to curb any potential misuse of such premises.
