The Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the Chhattisgarh government has announced the commencement of applications for the State Sports Awards for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25. The last date to submit applications is June 26, 2025. The awards include the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Award, Shaheed Vinod Choubey Award, and Veer Hanuman Singh Samman, along with the Chief Minister’s Trophy, prize money, sports scholarship (diet money), and incentive fund. These awards aim to encourage outstanding athletes, coaches, and judges at the state and national levels. Selection will be based on eligibility, achievements, and recommendations from sports associations. The Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award carries a prize of ₹3 lakh, while the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav and Veer Hanuman Singh Awards offer ₹1.5 lakh each. The Pankaj Vikram and Vinod Choubey Samman come with ₹25,000, and the Chief Minister’s Trophy offers prizes ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh, depending on the team size. Applications are open to national/international medal winners, athletes who have performed well in state-level competitions, and players in the sub-junior, junior, and senior categories. Players under 19 years of age can apply for diet money. Application forms can be obtained from the department’s website at http://sportsyw.cg.gov.in or from district/state sports offices. Applications for the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman will only be accepted with the recommendation of state sports associations. The deadline for application submission is June 26, 2025, during office hours. Applications can be submitted to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, G.E. Road, Raipur, or the District Sports Office, Raipur. All necessary certificates must be attached with the application. Incomplete or unclear applications will not be accepted. The decision of the selection committee will be final and binding. All eligible athletes, coaches, and sports associations are encouraged to apply on time to be a part of this honor.
