Agricultural Revolution in Dhamtari: Farmers' Path Easier with 22 New Cooperative Societies

Raipur, in the Kharif season 2026-27, the district administration of Dhamtari in Chhattisgarh has taken a major initiative to provide agricultural inputs on time to farmers and ensure transparent benefits of government schemes. To facilitate farmers' convenience and access, 22 new primary agricultural credit cooperative societies have been started in the district. Along with this, the district now has a total of 96 active societies reaching farmers in 370 gram panchayats covering 653 villages, providing fertilizer, seed, credit and crop insurance under one roof. Record distribution of fertilizer and certified seed: 29,060 MT of fertilizer and 12,432 quintals of certified seed have been distributed, which is about 1,500 MT and 1,400 quintals more than the previous year respectively. In addition, storage of an extra 5,000 MT of fertilizer has been ensured. Financial assistance: Against a target of Rs 350 crore, Rs 317 crore agricultural loan has been disbursed so far, about Rs 57 crore more than the same period last year (Rs 265 crore). Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme registration is ongoing for eligible crops such as paddy (irrigated/unirrigated), maize, arhar, moong, urad, kodho, kutki, ragi and peanuts. Farmers can enroll through the nearest primary agricultural credit cooperative society, bank branch, CSC, insurance portal/app or patwari/agricultural officials. Toll free helpline number: 14447. The clear objective of Dhamtari district administration is to make every farmer self-reliant and prosperous through the expansion of cooperative societies, seamless fertilizer‑seed supply, record loan distribution and crop insurance.
