Age, Quotas and Online Process: What Aspirants Need to Know

Prospective nursing students in Chhattisgarh should take note of several critical parameters introduced in the latest admission framework.

First, the age floor has been raised to 17 years, ensuring candidates have completed a full year after their 12th examination. Second, the quota distribution has been clearly defined: private colleges must reserve 40 % of all seats for the government quota, while the rest remain under the management quota. Government nursing colleges, on their part, will protect 20 % of seats for serving staff members.

Third, the selection mechanism differs by programme. BSc Nursing aspirants will sit for a statewide entrance exam, with the resulting merit list guiding seat allocation. GNM aspirants will be ranked purely on their 12th‑grade marks.

Finally, the admission cycle is entirely digital. Candidates submit applications through an online portal, attend virtual counselling, and receive seat allotment based on the predefined rules, merit scores and eligibility checks.
