Raipur / The evening of the capital Raipur resonated with patriotic tunes today. At the 'Aazadi ki Dhun' ceremony organized in collaboration with the Culture Department at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, 100 young artists from different regions of the state created a unique atmosphere of patriotism by performing a live band together with various musical instruments. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the ceremony and encouraged the young artists. In this special program organized before Independence Day, the enchanting performances of patriotic songs filled the audience with the spirit of nationalism.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that 'Aazadi ki Dhun', organized on the occasion of Independence Day, is a golden opportunity to spread the spirit of patriotism to every corner and to remember the sacrifice, penance, and martyrdom of the freedom fighters. 'Aazadi ki Dhun' reminds us of the glory of history, instills in us the sense of our present duties, and inspires us to resolve to build a bright future. The performance of patriotic tunes on various musical instruments simultaneously by 100 young artists for the first time in Chhattisgarh is a unique endeavor in itself. He congratulated the Culture Department and all the artists for this innovative event.
The Chief Minister said that music has an amazing power to awaken emotions and unite people. Songs, poems, and slogans also played a significant role in awakening the consciousness of freedom among countrymen during the Indian freedom movement. Patriotic songs boosted the morale of our revolutionaries and fighters in the most difficult circumstances and united crores of Indians for the goal of freedom. Even today, when patriotic tunes are heard, a sense of pride and devotion towards the nation automatically arises in the heart.
Recalling the immortal freedom fighters, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the country's freedom was achieved after countless sacrifices. Many revolutionaries sacrificed their lives for the motherland, thousands of fighters endured harsh tortures in prison, and lakhs of countrymen dedicated their everything to the nation. The struggles of countless national leaders and freedom fighters, including Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Veer Savarkar, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, laid the foundation of independent India. Today, we are able to realize our dreams in a free environment because of the penance, struggle, and sacrifice of our ancestors.
He said that freedom is not just a celebration of rights for us, but also a commitment to fulfill our duties and responsibilities towards the nation. We must always remember that it is our shared responsibility to protect this precious freedom obtained through the struggles of crores of countrymen, strengthen democratic values, and continuously lead the nation on the path of progress.
Mentioning the glorious contribution of Chhattisgarh to the freedom struggle, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the land of the state has also given birth to many brave sons who struggled against injustice and British rule. Martyr Veer Narayan Singh challenged the British rule for the rights of the poor and needy and made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. The tribal leader of Bastar, Veer Gundadhur, led the Bhumkal movement and raised the voice of the tribal community against British rule. The valor and sacrifice of such great fighters are the glorious heritage of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister said that events like 'Aazadi ki Dhun' especially connect the younger generation with the struggle for freedom and its values. It is essential for the new generation to know that the independent India in which they are flying high their dreams today, has been achieved through the struggle and sacrifice of many known and unknown fighters. Drawing inspiration from the ideals of freedom fighters and playing their role in nation-building will be the true tribute to them.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has put forth the resolve before the country to make India a developed nation by the centenary year of independence in 2047. This resolve is not just of the government, but a collective resolve of 140 crore countrymen. To realize this, every section of society, especially the youth, must come forward with their energy, talent, and strength.
He said that the Chhattisgarh government is also continuously working with the resolve of 'Developed Chhattisgarh' in building 'Developed India'. Our endeavor is that the light of development reaches every village, every family, and every person in the state, and Chhattisgarh plays an important role in the country's progress according to its capabilities and possibilities. He called upon the youth to contribute to building a developed India and a developed Chhattisgarh by fulfilling their duties with the spirit of 'Nation First'.
Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his best wishes for the festival of Hareli and early greetings for Independence Day to the artists and youth who participated in the ceremony. He said that this festival of freedom inspires us to remember our glorious past as well as to resolve to build a bright future.
On this occasion, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation Ms. Mona Sen, President of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi Shri Shashank Sharma, Vice-Chairman of Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board Shri Anjay Shukla, Chairman of Scout-Guide Shri Indrajeet Singh Khalsa, along with other public representatives, dignitaries, artists, and a large number of youth were present.
