A New Dawn of Peace in Bastar Through the Supreme Sacrifice of Immortal Martyrs, the Eternal Remembrance of Brave Soldiers’ Sacrifice: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai
A new dawn of peace in Bastar has arrived through the supreme sacrifice of immortal martyrs, and the sacrifice of brave soldiers will forever be remembered: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. Chief Minister Sai paid tribute to the immortal martyrs at the "Shauryaanjali: Dedicated to the Heroes of Bastar" program. The martyr soldiers laid the foundation for a secure future for the coming generations of Bastar with their indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice. Respect and welfare for the families of martyrs are our highest priority, and the Chhattisgarh government stands firmly with them in every joy and sorrow. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the anti‑Naxal campaign achieved decisive success. Moving beyond a long era of fear and violence, Bastar is forging a new identity of peace, trust and development. Building a peaceful, safe and prosperous Bastar in accordance with the martyrs’ dreams is our sincere tribute. In Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers, who gave their lives for peace and the secure future of upcoming generations in Bastar, will always be remembered. Their courage not only fought Naxalism but also laid the foundations of a new era of peace, security and prosperity in Bastar. The new morning of peace and trust now visible in Bastar reflects the indomitable bravery of our security forces and the supreme sacrifice of immortal martyrs. Chief Minister Sai addressed the "Shauryaanjali: Dedicated to the Heroes of Bastar" event organized by the Hindu Foundation, Nagpur, in Raipur. As part of the Service Commitment Campaign marking 25 years of Prime Minister Modi’s nation‑service, the Chief Minister paid homage to 50 immortal martyrs who offered their lives for peace and security in Bastar and honored their families. He expressed deep sympathy and gratitude to the families of martyrs, saying that the pain of losing a loved one cannot be expressed in words. When a soldier falls defending the nation, a mother loses her son, a wife loses her husband, and children lose their father’s shelter. This irreparable loss cannot be compensated, but the entire state of Chhattisgarh will forever be grateful to its brave sons and their families. He told the families that they are not only members of their own families but also the pride of the whole state and nation, exemplifying courage, duty and national service for future generations to remember with pride and respect. The government stands with the families in every joy and sorrow. He affirmed that respecting, protecting and caring for the families of martyrs is a top priority of the state government, a duty to look after those who have sacrificed everything for motherland and society. The government participates with sensitivity in the families’ joys and sorrows and will remain steadfast in any circumstance. He stated that the families of martyrs are not merely recipients of assistance, but our own families, and honoring them and meeting their needs is a collective responsibility. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister and Home Minister, the anti‑Naxal campaign achieved decisive results. Chief Minister Sai said that under Prime Minister Modi’s strong leadership and Home Minister Amit Shah’s guidance, the central and state governments pursued the eradication of Naxalism with firm will and better coordination. Security forces faithfully pursued the target set by the Home Minister for 31 March 2026. He noted that after four decades, Naxalism had deeply entrenched roots in Bastar, making the struggle difficult. In dense forests, rugged hills and harsh geography, our soldiers displayed unprecedented bravery. Coordinated efforts of central and state governments, strategic planning of security forces, and the soldiers’ indomitable valor led to decisive success against Naxalism. The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah, saying their leadership paved the way for lasting peace and development in Bastar. The true heroes of this transformation are our security forces, who never compromised on duty or national service even in the toughest conditions. For four decades Bastar endured the scourge of violence. Chief Minister Sai emphasized Bastar’s rich tribal culture, proud traditions, stunning natural beauty and simple lifestyle give it a unique global identity. Unfortunately, for forty years the region suffered Naxal violence, affecting thousands of families, causing children to grow up in fear and insecurity, and forcing remote communities to struggle for basic services like education, health, roads and electricity. He said that during this hard period, our security personnel stood like a rock to protect Bastar residents, operating far from their own families, confronting challenges in forests and difficult terrain. Many brave soldiers were martyred in the line of duty, and their sacrifice strengthened their comrades’ resolve. Chief Minister Sai paid homage to all security forces involved in the anti‑Naxal campaign, including Chhattisgarh Police, District Reserve Guard, Bastar Fighters and Central Reserve Police Force, stating that the entire state is proud of their courage and valor. Now, peace, trust and development are forging a new identity for Bastar. With the bravery and sacrifice of security forces, new doors of development and prosperity are opening in Bastar. Areas once plagued by fear now have roads, electricity, schools and health facilities, and government schemes reach the farthest villages. Through the “Niyad Nellanar” scheme, the government brings welfare schemes and basic facilities to remote villages long deprived of development, ensuring no village or family in Bastar is left behind. He highlighted that Bastar’s children are advancing in education, and youth are gaining new opportunities in sports, skill development and employment. Events like the Bastar Olympics showcase local sporting talent, while the Bastar Pandum gives new recognition to the region’s rich tribal culture, art and traditions. He asserted that Bastar’s identity now rests on its vibrant culture, natural beauty, talented youth, tourism and vast development potential, promising opportunities for every young person and prosperity for every family. Building Bastar according to the martyrs’ dreams is our collective responsibility. Chief Minister Sai said that today’s positive changes in Bastar are built on the sacrifice and dedication of our martyr soldiers, who gave their lives not only for current security but also for a bright, safe future for coming generations. He urged that we must ensure the peace achieved through their supreme sacrifice remains lasting, and that development and prosperity benefit every family in Bastar. He added that introducing the new generation to the lives, struggles and sacrifices of our brave soldiers is essential, as their dedication inspires patriotism, duty and service in youth. The Hindu Foundation’s initiative is commendable. Chief Minister Sai praised the foundation’s effort to honor and empathize with martyr families, noting that it has reached over 800 families across the country, reflecting society’s gratitude to those who sacrificed loved ones for national and societal security. He said “Shauryaanjali” is not only an occasion to pay tribute to immortal martyrs but also an opportunity to fulfill their unfinished dreams and uphold their ideals. Chief Minister Sai solemnly saluted all immortal martyrs, declaring that the sacrifice of our brave soldiers will never be in vain. Their bravery and sacrifice ushered a new morning of peace in Bastar, and we are committed to turning it into a beacon of development and prosperity. Together we will create a peaceful, safe, prosperous and developed Bastar, the dream envisioned by our heroic soldiers, which is our true tribute to the immortal martyrs. At the event, the Hindu Foundation’s organizer Sandeep Gupta, along with the descendant of martyr Veer Narayan Singh, Rajendra Singh Diwan, numerous martyr families, representatives and dignitaries were present.
