4 New Industrial Parks to be Developed in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, The state government has taken a significant decision to develop four new industrial parks (manufacturing clusters) in Chhattisgarh to promote industrial development and new employment opportunities. The proposal was formally approved in the meeting of the State Level Committee for Industrial Development Plan under the Industries and Commerce Department, chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Vikasheel.

The proposals for setting up industrial parks in four districts of the state were discussed in detail and approved during the second meeting of the committee. Approval was given for proposals to establish industrial parks in Rajnandgaon district as a Special Manufacturing Cluster, Patawa; in Dhamtari district as a Multi-Sector Manufacturing Cluster, Dhumrapali; in Janjgir-Champa district as a Multi-Sector Manufacturing Cluster, Salkhan; and in Bastar district as a Multi-Sector Manufacturing Cluster, Nianar.

The scheme for 'Promotion of Manufacturing Clusters' is an ambitious scheme of the Central Government, which the Chhattisgarh government has effectively implemented under its industrial development policy. A state-level committee has been constituted for the smooth functioning of this scheme in the state and for time-bound approval of various projects.

Senior officials from key departments of the state participated in the meeting, including Dr. Rohit Yadav (Secretary, Finance Department), Mr. Ankit Anand (Secretary, Housing and Environment Department), Mr. Rajat Kumar (Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department), Dr. Saransh Mittar (Secretary, Energy Department), Ms. Iffat Ara (Special Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department), and other high officials from related departments.
