Chavan’s Allegation of Gopinath Mudde’s Congress Overture Dismissed

Former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan previously alleged that Gopinath Mudde, a senior BJP figure who has passed away, had once demanded a central cabinet post as a condition for joining the Congress. He also suggested that then‑Congress president Sonia Gandhi had given a tentative nod to the proposal. Pankaja Mudde rebuked these statements, stressing that her father was a devoted BJP leader and that no such negotiation ever took place.
