CCTV Leads to Arrests and Recovery of ₹16.41 Lakh from Train Coach

A collaborative effort between the Railway Protection Force and Kolkata police resulted in the retrieval of jewellery and cash worth ₹16.41 lakh from the New Alipurduar‑Sialdah Padatik Express. CCTV at Kotlappukur station captured the thief entering coach S‑1 from the opposite side. The joint team raided the suspect’s father‑in‑law’s house in Nageshwar Bagh, recovering a pink bag containing broken gold bangles, chudis, necklaces, rings, pendant chains, a child’s armlet, a deity’s crown, raw gold, silver coins and ₹1.41 lakh cash. A subsequent raid on a jewellery shop in Laloo Market secured the remaining stolen items.
