Investigation Update: CCTV Footage Sought After Theft at Retired Judge's House
Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Kashyap confirmed that surveillance video capturing the burglary at retired judge Giribala Singh’s residence has been retrieved and is undergoing detailed analysis. The footage, recorded during the late hours of June 27 and early June 28, shows a group of masked men scaling the upper rear gate before moving inside the premises.
Police teams have been dispatched to cross‑reference facial features and clothing with known criminal databases. Although no arrests have been reported, investigators say the CCTV clip is a critical lead that could quickly narrow down the pool of suspects. The stolen items are believed to include gold and silver ornaments, though the exact quantity has not been disclosed.
Officials emphasized that the burglary probe is being conducted independently of the Central Bureau of Investigation’s inquiry into the death of actress Twisha Sharma, which is slated to see Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh appear before the court later this week.
