In a significant development, the CBI has assumed control of the investigation into the alleged suicide of actress-model Twisha Sharma. The decision follows intense pressure from her family, who suspected dowry-related harassment by her husband and in-laws. On Tuesday, a CBI team reached the Bhopal residence where Twisha’s body was discovered on May 12. Officers conducted a detailed inspection of the house and began gathering new evidence. The agency had already registered an FIR against Samarth Singh and former judge Giribala Singh late Monday night. Earlier, the state SIT had conducted a crime scene recreation and questioned Samarth for over three hours. He maintained that Twisha’s demeanor shifted after she suffered a miscarriage. The CBI’s Special Crime Unit has since collected all prior forensic reports and statements to ensure a thorough and independent inquiry.
