Marandi calls for CBI inquiry into Jharkhand recruitment scams

New Delhi, 18 August – In a recent interview, opposition leader Baboolal Marandi urged the Central Bureau of Investigation to take over the probe of alleged manipulations in Jharkhand’s competitive exams and appointment procedures. He said that the current investigations, though resulting in a few arrests, have not uncovered the full scope of the network allegedly facilitating these irregularities.

Marandi listed several sectors where complaints have emerged: the appointment of assistant teachers, secondary‑school instructors, women supervisors and various JSSC‑run examinations. He asserted that the pattern of allegations over the last few years indicates an entrenched system rather than sporadic cases.

The leader stressed that merely arresting the foot soldiers will not reveal who finances the scheme or who provides the political cover. He called for a deep dive into the financial transactions linked to the recruitment process and demanded that senior officials, including those within the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, be brought under scrutiny.

Marandi concluded that a transparent, independent CBI probe is essential for restoring the confidence of millions of aspirants who depend on a fair selection system for their careers. Without such a comprehensive inquiry, the truth about the alleged corruption will remain hidden, and the integrity of Jharkhand’s public service recruitment will continue to be questioned.
