Caste‑based conspiracy cited by Uttar Pradesh MLA after being barred from temple rites

Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Jay Devi Kashal accused a caste‑driven plot after she was prevented from taking part in the inauguration of the Shitala Devi temple’s renovation. Kashal, who secured a Rs 7.6 million allocation for the project, arrived with senior officials on August 20. When the moment arrived for her to lead the worship, she was quietly excluded and not allowed to join the aarti. She said the denial was rooted in her Pasi identity and called the episode a deliberate attempt to marginalise her and the community she represents.
