Cash Prizes of ₹31,000 and ₹21,000 Announced for Class‑1 and Class‑2 Administrators

Gujarat's new Atal Good Governance Award scheme specifies cash incentives for senior officials. Class‑1 officers, typically heading district departments, will be allotted a cash prize of ₹31,000, while Class‑2 officers, who supervise taluka‑level functions, will receive ₹21,000.

The financial award is part of a broader recognition package that includes a specially designed Certificate of Excellence. The scheme is designed to motivate officials across seven core service departments that have direct interaction with citizens, such as health, education, infrastructure, food supplies, sports, rural development, and revenue.

Performance assessment will be based on a set of criteria established by the state, rather than routine day‑to‑day activity. Departmental committees, overseen by secretaries and senior officials, will evaluate officers' work for the fiscal year ending 31 March.

The award timeline requires departments to finish evaluations by 30 November, forward the final list to the General Administration Department by 10 December, and conduct the award ceremony on 25 December during the Good Governance Day event.
