Career Opportunity: Apprentice Roles in Carpentry, Electrical, Welding at TIFR

A fresh batch of apprenticeship openings has been announced by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. The institute seeks ten individuals for hands‑on roles in carpentry (2 posts), electrician (3 posts), fitter, G & E welder, painter, machinist and turner.

Candidates must hold a National Trade Certificate with a minimum of 60 % aggregate in the relevant trade and should not be older than 28 years as of 30 September 2026. Age concessions are applicable for candidates from reserved categories according to government norms.

The hiring funnel includes an online application, scrutiny of credentials, a written test and evaluation of the candidate’s total trade marks from the academic semester. Selected apprentices will be paid a stipend of ₹18,500 per month.

The institute will host a walk‑in selection on 30 September, starting at 09:30 a.m., at its premises on Homi Bhabha Road, Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai. Aspirants are advised to carry original certificates, photocopies and a recent passport‑size photo.
