Capacity Building Drive in UP Schools Targets Untrained Employees

Lucknow, 11 September – In a bid to raise the overall competence of its education cadre, the Uttar Pradesh government has expanded the Mission Karmayogi training scheme to include every staff member of the Basic and Secondary Education Department.

Officials who have yet to complete any module, or whose enrolments are partially finished, are being fast‑tracked for course completion. The directive comes directly from the Director‑General of School Education, who will also finish the courses herself and hold department heads accountable for their teams' progress.

The six chosen modules cover a spectrum of modern needs: managing screen time and adopting a digital lifestyle, correcting commonly confused English vocabulary, deploying effective teaching practices for pre‑primary classes, incorporating yoga breaks at work, managing stress, and mastering basic project‑management principles.

By embedding regular learning into daily routines, the department hopes to cultivate a skilled, adaptable workforce capable of implementing educational reforms and improving student outcomes across Uttar Pradesh.

State Education Minister (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh highlighted that a capable human resource base is essential for turning policy intent into tangible results on the school floor.
