Calls intensify for education minister’s resignation amid DSC hiring controversy

Jagan Mohan Reddy intensified his criticism of Andhra Pradesh’s DSC teacher recruitment on Monday, urging the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The YSRCP leader argued that the minister bears direct responsibility for the alleged manipulation of the selection process.

Reddy recapped a recent incident where a candidate with a 65 TET score allegedly cleared a seven‑stage verification before being rejected by the District Education Officer. He questioned the authenticity of the verification steps and highlighted the candidate’s claim of not being informed about his job allocation.

The political figure demanded that the chief minister accept full accountability for the scandal and allow a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry to uncover any wrongdoing. He warned that continued opacity would only fuel public mistrust in the education system.

Earlier, Reddy had posted that the lives of countless teacher hopefuls are being turned into a "joke" due to the chaotic handling of the DSC recruitment, emphasizing the need for immediate, transparent action.
