Call for public audit of mandis generating over ₹3 crore annually

Patwari’s letter to the chief minister demanded a transparent, mandi‑wise public audit covering revenue, spending and the state of farmer‑centric facilities. He proposed that the audit results be used to design a dedicated “Mandi Improvement Scheme” targeting the 110 mandis whose annual income tops three crore rupees. The scheme would prioritize the provision of drinking water, shade, sanitation, paved access and secure storage, ensuring that farmers receive dignified conditions while selling their produce.
