C-17 Flights Carry 35 Tonnes of Relief Gear to Earthquake-Stricken Venezuela
Two Indian Air Force C‑17 aircraft completed a strategic airlift operation, delivering roughly 35 tonnes of relief material to Venezuela. The cargo included food parcels, winter clothing, medical kits, and a complete set of equipment for the field hospital.
The planes followed a route that took them from the Indian Air Force base at Hindon to a refuelling stop in Abidjan before proceeding to Caracas. The successful delivery marks a significant logistical achievement, demonstrating India's capacity to provide rapid, large‑scale humanitarian assistance across continents.
The relief material is being distributed by the Indian embassy in coordination with Venezuelan authorities and local NGOs. Priority is being given to quake‑hit neighborhoods where infrastructure damage has left thousands without basic services.
