Heartfelt Tribute by BSF to Braveheart Martyrs in New Delhi

A solemn tribute ceremony was held by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the National Police Memorial in New Delhi on Thursday, where the force remembered its braveheart martyrs.

BSF Director General Praveen Kumar presided over the event, which was attended by officers, subordinate officers, jawans and the families of the martyrs. The gathering paid respectful homage to those who made the highest sacrifice while safeguarding the nation.

The BSF informed the public about the ceremony through its official social media handle. The message noted that the occasion was a day to reflect upon the sacrifice and heroism of the martyrs.

During the event, Director General Praveen Kumar and Richa Jha, President of the BSF Wives Welfare Association (BAWA), personally met the invited family members. They asked about their wellbeing and assured them that the entire BSF family would remain by their side at every step.

The force stated in its message, "The sacrifice of our braveheart martyrs is remembered with reverence, and their bravery, valour and devotion to duty have been recalled as an inspiration and will continue to be so."

To add dignity to the occasion, a memorial parade was organised. The parade contingent, accompanied by a band, led the gathering in paying tribute and offering a fitting salute to the martyrs. The moving performances by the BSF brass and pipe band made the programme even more poignant.

The ceremony ended with the flag lowering ceremony, a moment that symbolised gratitude and respect for the country's valiant sons.

Every year, October 21 is observed as Police Commemoration Day at the National Police Memorial. On October 22, the BSF organised a special tribute programme on its own to remember all personnel who gave their lives while defending the nation's borders.
