BRS backs Special Intensive Revision 2026, proposes AI‑driven de‑duplication

In addition to endorsing SIR‑2026, BRS urged the commission to adopt modern technologies for de‑duplication. Suggested tools include artificial intelligence‑based matching, Aadhaar verification where permitted by law, facial‑recognition systems, GIS mapping, dedicated de‑duplication software and on‑ground verification by trained agents.

Citing Sections 17, 18 and 62 of the Representation of People Act, the party reiterated that a single individual cannot be lawfully registered as a voter in multiple locations. BRS also warned that the verification process must be careful not to delete legitimate voters from the roll.
