BRICS 2026: Delhi’s Municipal Council Launches Massive Clean‑up and Festive Displays

Ahead of the September 12‑13 BRICS summit, the NDMC has rolled out a comprehensive city‑wide facelift. The plan covers pothole‑free streets, upgraded sidewalks, clear zebra crossings and thematic paintings that reflect a spirit of global hospitality.

Special fog‑spraying operations are scheduled for five congested stretches—Lodhi Road, Tilak Marg, Africa Avenue, Shantipath and Zakir Husain Road—to control dust and pollution. A 24‑hour command and control centre will operate from September 5 to 14, monitoring traffic and coordinating with Delhi Police and traffic police for smooth movement.
