Border Proximity Fuels Drug Challenges in Mizoram, Says Governor

Governor Singh highlighted that Mizoram’s location near international borders makes it vulnerable to the inflow of illicit substances, resulting in a higher rate of drug consumption compared to many other regions.

He warned that without coordinated action, the drug problem could exacerbate other health crises in the state, including rising cancer cases and a significant HIV burden. Singh called for a united effort involving awareness campaigns, firm resolve, and collaborative partnerships to tackle these intertwined challenges.
