Bommai Criticises Rahul Gandhi for Alleged Anti-India Stance During Overseas Trips

During a press interaction, Basavaraj Bommai targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of delivering anti‑India statements while travelling abroad. Bommai alleged that Gandhi attempts to paint India as a non‑democratic state to foreign audiences.

He countered Gandhi’s narrative by pointing out that the opposition leader recently contested elections in two states, which, according to Bommai, is concrete proof that democracy remains robust in the country. "If there were no democracy, how could they stand as opposition leaders?" he asked.

Bommai also suggested that Congress, unable to challenge the BJP at the ballot box, is resorting to supporting extremist formations such as the Cockroach Janata Party to sow discord. He warned that such alliances only deepen the political divide and threaten national cohesion.

The former chief minister called for a parliamentary debate on the issue, urging the government to adopt a zero‑tolerance policy toward any individual or organisation that receives foreign money with the intent to tarnish India's image.
