Bomb Scare at Delhi-NCR Schools Triggers Police Search Drive

New Delhi, October 23: A fresh bomb scare has gripped several schools in the national capital region. On Friday, Delhi Police said that threats of bomb attacks had been directed at some schools. Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the sites as soon as the information came in. Initial examination has not turned up any suspicious object or unusual finding, and the investigation remains ongoing.

According to Delhi Police, Venkateshwar Public School in Rohini and Salwan Public School in Mayur Vihar have also received threats. Fire department alerts were logged at about 9:37 am and 9:57 am. Police noted that the message sent to Salwan Public School in Mayur Vihar specified a bomb attack on October 30.

An earlier episode on October 12 saw panic spread across Noida after several schools received bomb threats by email. The institutions affected included APJ School in Sector-16, Step by Step, DPS GBN and some others.

Upon receiving the threats, police and district administration moved swiftly. Search operations were launched at the schools concerned to ensure the safety of everyone on campus. Bomb disposal squads, dog squads, anti-sabotage checking teams and fire brigade personnel were deployed for thorough sweeps of the premises.

Police in Gautam Buddh Nagar said local police stations acted without delay and coordinated with security agencies. Inspections covered various areas of the schools with the assistance of bomb squads and dog units, while anti-sabotage teams and fire services supported the security checks. No object or evidence connected to the threats was discovered.

The frequency of such threats targeting schools in Delhi and surrounding areas has risen sharply in recent years. Repeated alerts have raised worries among authorities, educators, children and parents.
