The Legacy of ‘Blanket Baba’: From Uttarakhand’s Hills to Vrindavan’s Samadhi

Born in the village of Neem Karoli, the saint became known as “Blanket Baba” because he often meditated wrapped in a simple blanket. Kangchi Dham served as his base for meditation and open‑door service. His devotion to Lord Hanuman shaped daily chants and advice to cultivate unwavering faith. When illness struck in 1973, he was taken to Vrindavan, where he entered Mahasamadhi on 11 September. A modest memorial now draws pilgrims from around the world.
