In a fiery address to Samajwadi Party workers in Lucknow on February 18, Akhilesh Yadav exposed what he called a BJP-orchestrated campaign to discredit the PDA coalition’s cohesion and incite divisions among the state’s youth. The SP chief framed this as part of a broader assault on democratic and socialist principles.
Gathering at the state headquarters, Yadav rallied leaders from across districts, cautioning them against falling prey to the BJP’s smear tactics. ‘This party despises true democracy and secularism. Their latest ploy is to weaken PDA unity and pit youngsters against each other,’ he stated bluntly.
He called for disciplined organization-building, steering clear of provocations. Drawing inspiration from Lohia and Ambedkar, Yadav positioned the PDA as Uttar Pradesh’s viable alternative. ‘Stay united. The assembly polls are pivotal – SP government is coming back,’ he predicted.
Yadav outlined SP’s vision: pro-farmer, pro-poor, and youth-centric policies for holistic development. He lambasted the incumbent government for its lack of original accomplishments, resorting to appropriating SP’s legacy projects.
With UP elections on the horizon, Yadav’s speech underscores a battle for narrative control, aiming to fortify alliances and counter perceived BJP machinations. Party insiders see this as a blueprint for countering polarization efforts.
