In a fiery rebuttal from New Delhi on April 8, BJP parliamentarian Dhaval Patel condemned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for what he called a premeditated insult to Gujarat. Patel dismissed any notion of it being an accidental remark, labeling it a strategic assault on the state’s pride and people.

Recounting Kharge’s Kerala speech, Patel pointed out the direct jabs at Gujaratis’ intelligence and education. This pattern, he noted, repeats across states like Assam and Uttar Pradesh, revealing Congress’s recurring disdain. Beyond hurting locals, these words undermine the monumental roles of Gandhi and Patel in India’s history, rooted deeply in Gujarat’s contributions to freedom.

Patel warned that Congress is deliberately creating rifts between regions and the nation, all to bolster its waning influence by damaging Gujarat’s reputation. ‘The Indian public now sees through Congress’s facade,’ he declared confidently. No scheme to divide will succeed against the unity and awareness sweeping the country.

The backlash is palpable, with Gujarat residents staging protests at Congress offices, demanding accountability for Kharge’s barbs. A vocal participant emphasized, ‘Our education and diligence fuel our success and national progress. Slanderers are misguided.’ Patel anticipates this resistance spreading nationwide, rendering Congress’s agenda futile against Gujarat’s unyielding strength.
