BJP’s Service Pledge Campaign Sparks Massive Diya Blaze in Ujjain

The Service Pledge campaign launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday turned Ujjain into a glowing beacon of devotion. Over 33.27 lakh diyas were set alight simultaneously along the Shipra River’s ghats, flooding the city with light.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, national president Nitin Naveen, state president Hemant Khandelwal and regional coordinator Mahendra Singh stood with locals to ignite the lamps, symbolising the party’s commitment to public service and cultural heritage.

Across Madhya Pradesh, the campaign saw 3.55 crore lamps lit in 845 iconic locations, but Ujjain’s single‑site record of more than 33 lakh lamps earned a place in the World Book of Records, cementing the event as a milestone in India’s religious festivities.
