BJP Says Public Has Rejected Congress Over Opposition Rally

New Delhi, November 1: The BJP has accused the Congress and Rahul Gandhi of creating unrest around constitutional institutions after the opposition held a rally in Delhi. Party leaders said the opposition was questioning the Election Commission's processes to confuse people, and they claimed the rally had failed to win public backing.

BJP Bihar chief Sanjay Sarawgi said the opposition was once again using constitutional bodies as a target, calling it a fresh drama aimed at intimidation. He said the public was not supporting Gandhi and that he was misleading citizens on electoral issues. Sarawgi said Congress governments had killed democracy and the Constitution in the past, including by toppling state governments and imposing President's Rule, which he described as a clear violation of constitutional principles.

He emphasised that Narendra Modi is Prime Minister because of the people's mandate and not because of Rahul Gandhi. Sarawgi accused Gandhi of persistently attacking institutions that are meant to function independently.

On the Special Intensive Revision in Bihar, Sarawgi said Gandhi had been unable to produce even one wrong voter despite the process being launched in the state. He asked how many people who attended the Ramlila Maidan rally had been removed from the voter list. He added that while the Congress remains silent when it wins, it quickly alleges EVM hacking and vote theft after losing.

Sarawgi said citizens in states governed by the opposition were praising the SIR, while leaders in Delhi were calling it faulty. He asked what the opposition hoped to achieve, questioning whether it wanted the dead to vote from crematoriums or people registered at two locations to vote in both places.

He further asked whether the Congress party was celebrating the Sikh genocide. He reiterated that the rally was a flop, adding that the public had not come out in support and that many seats at the event were empty.

BJP MP Pravin Khandelwal said the Emergency was imposed under a Congress government and that those responsible for the Sikh genocide were now claiming democracy was in danger. He called Rahul Gandhi an unsuccessful and politically unemployed leader whose main focus was causing controversy to stay in headlines. Khandelwal alleged that Gandhi never discusses the work done by Congress-run state governments and said this explained why voters reject the party in elections.

Khandelwal also criticised Mallikarjun Kharge, claiming he was functioning as a puppet of the Congress and the Gandhi family. He said that as a veteran leader, Kharge understood that the country was progressing under Modi's leadership and that the opposition should play a constructive role rather than a disruptive one.

Khandelwal targeted Akhilesh Yadav as well, saying the Samajwadi Party leader was in political wilderness and had no government in any state. He asked why, if Yadav was strong enough to defeat the BJP, he did not contest alone, and why he was seeking Congress's help instead.
