Tensions boiled over in Bengaluru as BJP leaders hammered the Congress government for its mishandling of the city’s worsening garbage crisis. On Thursday, amid piles of uncollected waste plaguing neighborhoods, Karnataka BJP MLAs vowed to hold the ruling party accountable.
Leading the charge was BJP MLA CT Ravi, who mocked Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s pet phrase ‘Brand Bangalore.’ ‘What they mean by Brand Bangalore is blatant corruption,’ Ravi told the media. ‘All talk, no action – they’re deceiving citizens while their woes mount. There’s zero accountability for public suffering.’
Speaking at the BJP’s state executive conclave, Ravi emphasized organizational resilience. ‘We strengthen our base and engage communities, carrying their voices forward,’ he noted. ‘Our cadre is our backbone, and voters recognize the party that truly supports them.’
The BJP stalwart didn’t spare national Congress figures either. ‘Rahul Gandhi is disowned by his own colleagues, and the masses reject his leadership,’ Ravi stated. ‘Their failed coalitions spell doom in every poll.’
Ravi lauded PM Modi’s people-centric governance. ‘No debate – Modi works tirelessly for the nation. BJP-ruled states thrive, proving our dedication.’
Fellow MLA S Suresh Kumar targeted Shivakumar directly. ‘He must grasp the agony in garbage-burdened zones like Badapur and Mahadevapura,’ Kumar urged. ‘Commit to solutions via legislator consultations, not vague promises.’
Spokesperson Ajay Alok accused the regime of systemic graft. ‘Congress is rotten to the core, chasing illicit gains – witness the plot scandals linked to the Gandhi kin.’
This political showdown lays bare Bengaluru’s waste woes, rooted in administrative lapses. As accusations fly, citizens yearn for practical fixes to reclaim their garden city’s pride.
