BJP Questions Opposition Rally Turnout and Mock PM Remark

A day after a large opposition rally in Delhi, BJP leaders Giriraj Singh and Pralhad Joshi have questioned the event's turnout and the opposition's commitment to constitutional values.

Giriraj Singh said Rahul Gandhi's political balloon had lost its air. He recalled that organisers had claimed lakhs of people would attend, yet the crowd was much smaller than expected. He added that the rally had been billed as having 20 participating parties.

Singh posed a direct question to the opposition: will the country be governed by the Constitution or by someone's word? He said India is a democracy, and democracy runs on the Constitution and the law.

He alleged that the opposition wants to push the country towards civil-war-like instability. In contrast, he said, the country's youth are following Swami Vivekananda's ideals, raising the flag of nationalism and rejecting terrorism.

On claims of vote theft, Singh said the opposition has been out of power in many states for a long period. He urged such parties to resign from governments where they hold office if they believed votes had been stolen. In his view, the people have simply withdrawn their support.

Singh also took aim at Mamata Banerjee, claiming she had wanted to make West Bengal like Bangladesh and that the people of Bengal would now hold her accountable for every paisa.

Pralhad Joshi said the opposition first organised a mock parliament and then a rally, but voters keep defeating them. He argued that the opposition lacks trust in constitutional institutions and recalled the 1975 Emergency, saying it weakened the entire system and placed curbs on the media.

Joshi noted that the Election Commission that conducted polls in Kerala was the same one now being questioned, and that the Centre was run by the Modi government. He said the opposition had welcomed its win there. He also cited opposition-run governments in Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand.

He claimed Rahul Gandhi does not work hard enough and questioned the unity shown on stage with Mamata Banerjee. Joshi asked whether the two had contested the West Bengal election together, and what had happened then, pointing out that the vote-theft narrative emerged only after the defeat.

Joshi said Rahul Gandhi would remain a "mock prime minister" and that, if he is satisfied with this, he should be allowed to stay in that role.
