BJP’s multi‑phase program spreads Guru Ravidas’ message of equality and social harmony
The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has outlined a four‑stage "Samrasata Sankalp" agenda that will roll out across the state beginning July 29, the day of Guru Purnima, to commemorate Guru Ravidas’s 650th birth anniversary. The programme is designed to broadcast the Guru’s enduring ideals of equality, mutual respect, and societal justice to every corner of Punjab.
Phase one, the "Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasata Deep Mahotsav," will involve lighting ceremonial lamps at Guru Ravidas temples, accompanied by bhajans, spiritual discourses, cultural performances, and communal langars. Phase two, the "Kalash Vandan" drive (July 29‑September 10), will bring a holy kalash containing soil from the Guru’s birthplace in Sir Gobardhanpur, Varanasi, to temples throughout the state for public reverence.
The third component, the "Sant Sampark" outreach, will run until August 31, during which party leaders will seek blessings from saints linked to Guru Ravidas’s tradition. The fourth segment, the "Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasata Yatra," will travel from Jalandhar’s Dera Sachkhand Ballan to Sir Gobardhanpur between October 5 and November 5, carrying the Guru’s messages of unity and national integration.
A final "Student Hostel Sampark" initiative, scheduled from November 26 to January 15, 2027, will organize "Samrasata Dialogue" sessions in student hostels, introducing young adults to the Guru’s teachings and the concept of a "Developed India." To ensure smooth execution, a state‑level committee chaired by BJP Punjab General Secretary Jagmohan Singh Raju, with former legislators and senior bureaucrats, has been constituted.
