BJP’s Alleged Strategy to Use Mosque Disputes for Political Gain Criticised by SP

Lucknow, September 9 – The Socialist Party’s chief spokesperson, Udaiveer Singh, voiced a fierce denunciation of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s alleged tactic of exploiting mosque controversies for electoral advantage. Central to his argument is the recent notice served to the Mustafa Mosque on Delhi Road in Muradabad, which he says is a calculated move to stir sectarian sentiment.

Singh claimed the BJP’s nine‑plus years in power have been dominated by scandals involving money laundering, corruption, and the dismantling of essential services. He portrayed the party’s current focus on religious disputes as an attempt to distract the electorate from governance failures.

He cited the Saharanpur mosque demolition as an example of the government’s willingness to override judicial processes. According to Singh, the administration denied the community’s right to appeal the district court’s eviction order in the High Court, resulting in an unlawful demolition that was later contested.

In Sambhal, an ASI-led probe into the Baba Bahuddin Shah Mosque—an edifice over a century old—was mentioned by Singh, who reminded audiences of the Supreme Court’s previous injunction against bulldozer attacks on heritage sites. He accused the BJP of ignoring these directives in pursuit of a political agenda.

The spokesperson also defended the Socialist Party’s adoption of a blue dress code for its youth wing, explaining that the colour symbolizes social justice, constitutional governance, and limitless potential. He maintained that the BJP’s aversion to the colour reflects a deeper resistance to these values.
