BJP leaders linked illegal liquor network, protection questioned

Investigations into the Sagar poison‑alcohol case have raised allegations of involvement by local BJP politicians. Jitu Patwari asserts that if any party leader or associate is found connected to the illicit trade, political shielding must not be allowed.

Patwari stresses that the alleged network may extend beyond Sagar, possibly linking Lalitpur’s counterfeit supply to the victims. The letter to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav demands a thorough probe into these political links.

He calls for an independent judicial commission to examine the role of party functionaries and to ensure that no one receives protection due to political affiliation. The commission should also assess the effectiveness of the state's liquor‑monitoring system.
