In a candid conversation in Chennai, senior BJP figure Narayanan Tirupati affirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unparalleled popularity in Tamil Nadu. The leader emphasized how Modi’s initiatives have endeared him to the local populace.

Tirupati expressed the collective anticipation for Modi’s arrival, saying, “The people of Tamil Nadu have always stood by him, and they’ve benefited immensely from his work for the state and its Tamil-speaking residents.”

He took aim at DMK’s much-hyped 8000-rupee coupon program, portraying it as an empty gesture. “They promise coupons to purchase appliances from local shops if re-elected,” Tirupati said derisively. “But let’s be real – refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, and other necessities are standard in Tamil Nadu homes already. This is just political theater.”

Pivoting to national achievements, Tirupati hailed the Women’s Reservation Bill as a BJP triumph under Modi’s guidance. The party has championed women’s issues for years, he noted, contrasting it with DMK and Congress’s apparent reluctance to empower women genuinely.

Regarding the leak allegations surrounding Vijay’s upcoming movie ‘Jai Nayeakan’, Tirupati dismissed them outright. “These are baseless accusations,” he asserted, referencing the CBFC’s confirmation that the film’s certification key was handed over on March 17 exclusively to the filmmakers. No external involvement is possible.

As political temperatures rise in Tamil Nadu, Tirupati’s statements signal BJP’s strategic push, leveraging Modi’s appeal to challenge incumbents.
