BJP Leader Basavaraj Kanale Accused of Collecting Rs 60 Lakh for Vet Officer Posts

The investigation alleges that Basavaraj Kanale promised candidates the veterinary officer position in exchange for money. Three aspirants allegedly handed him a total of ₹60 lakh in cash: Kirana Gauda paid ₹10 lakh, Mohammad Sohail ₹20 lakh, and Salim Onti ₹30 lakh. Additional cash of ₹5.60 lakh was seized directly from Kanale, and about ₹71 lakh was traced to his wife's bank account.
