BJP Lawmakers Denounce Police Attempt to Disperse Students After Assembly March

BJP MLA Raj Sinha told reporters that the police entered the protest zone after receiving a tip that “unidentified” individuals were present. He argued that a legitimate democratic protest cannot be cleared in the dark and demanded that any eviction be carried out in full view of the public.

Former legislator Bhanu Pratap Shahi added that pressuring students at night was a tactic not seen even during colonial rule. He urged the administration to remember that the demonstrators were accompanied by large crowds earlier and that any forceful removal would be a grave administrative error.
