BJP’s Sunil Jakhda says Bhagwant Mann’s conduct a 'great sin' and vows accountability
Chandigarh, June 29 – Speaking to a news outlet, BJP leader Sunil Jakhda condemned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for making statements he termed a "great sin." Jakhda cited a post he made on his X handle, where he urged Mann to answer to his conscience and stop the alleged theatrics.
Jakhda recounted that Mann claimed Aam Aadmi Party representatives would submit themselves before the Akal Takht and gracefully accept his decisions. The BJP figure dismissed this, insisting that if Mann’s claims held any truth, he should personally bring evidence to the Akal Takht, just as the earlier video controversy was examined.
He accused Mann of desecrating the Akal Takht’s reputation, manufacturing a misleading survey, and then orchestrating a press event with his ministers followed by a solo press conference. Jakhda claimed that after these maneuvers, Mann handed his legislators a scripted page, outlining precisely what they should say.
While noting his affiliation with the parliament, Jakhda asserted he would not partake in what he described as Mann’s moral transgression. He warned that Mann’s arrogance is nearing its end and that the newly elected MLAs involved in the alleged misconduct will also be held to account.
