BJP highlights Abhijit Deepak’s past AAP links and timing of Jantar Mantar sit‑in

During a media interaction, BJP leader Rituraj Sinha drew attention to activist Abhijit Deepak’s alleged former affiliation with the Aam Aadmi Party and his connections to Arvind Kejriwal’s campaign machinery. Sinha claimed that Deepak arrived back from the United States on 6 June, only to commence a protest at Jantar Mantar on 20 June, one day before the re‑NEET examination scheduled for 21 June.

According to Sinha, this timing was deliberately chosen to influence students ahead of the exam, turning a legitimate grievance into a political rally. He added that the protest did not garner the anticipated public backing and that the examination proceeded without major interruptions.

Sinha further alleged that, after the limited impact of the sit‑in, Sonam Wangchuk was asked to begin an indefinite hunger strike to sustain the agitation. The BJP leader called on students to see through such tactics and to support only those who are truly committed to resolving the paper‑leak problem and ensuring a transparent examination process.
