Confident BJP Eyes Third Term in 2027 After Lucknow Executive Meet

BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh expressed confidence about the 2027 assembly elections ahead of a state executive meeting in Lucknow on Friday, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The party's leaders said the meeting had been eagerly awaited by members across the state. They said Shah's guidance would serve as a source of inspiration as the party heads into the assembly polls, and they predicted that the BJP would form the government for a third time.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said the meeting was the first state executive session since the organisation had been strengthened under state president Pankaj Chaudhary. He credited Shah's strategy with the BJP's success in Uttar Pradesh and said he trusted the party would return to power with a thumping majority in 2027. He added that Shah's speech at the meeting would have far-reaching effects.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak called the gathering a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party's executive committee. He said Shah, who he described as a guardian for every party member, would open the meeting and give new energy and direction to the party's organisation in the state.

Pathak also said the Samajwadi Party should not be under any illusion. He said Uttar Pradesh's people were standing with the BJP and that the party would win the 2027 elections by a wide margin. His remarks were directed at party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said it was a privilege that the party would receive Shah's guidance at the executive meeting. He said it would be inspiring for the party in the forthcoming assembly elections and would help the BJP form the government for a third time.

Minister Narendra Kashyap said Shah's presence at the meeting would encourage party workers. He said the gathering would discuss a comprehensive plan for the 2027 assembly polls, aimed at giving the BJP a third consecutive term in Uttar Pradesh.

State Minister Vijaylaxmi Gautam said the election was clearly near, but the party had always worked continuously over the full five years, not just during elections. She said that whatever direction Shah gave would be followed by all party members.

BJP MLA Pratik Bhushan Singh said there was strong enthusiasm among legislators, MPs and office-bearers about Shah joining the state executive meeting. He said everyone was keen to receive his guidance while preparing for the upcoming elections.
